A timeline has been added to this website. Titled "The Human Lineage Through Time" the timeline shows the temporal relationship among the eighteen hominin species preceding ourselves on the human evolutionary tree. As visitors to this site know, the Homininae are bipedal apes who diverged from their quadrupedal cousins, Pan troglodytes (Chimpanzee) between seven and six million years ago. In addition to the graphic display of temporal relationships, The Human Lineage Through Time contains basic data on each of the taxa comprising the hominin lineage. Soon we will be adding an essay for each taxon, describing the circumstances of its discovery and identification and its evolutionary significance.
